Our Summer Vacay part 1-The Drive

The kids got out of school on May 26th and we started our drive up to Utah the next morning. Caden screamed the first hour of the drive and now I can't even remember why. Somebody said something and Caden got mad and yada, yada, yada. The rest of the drive was okay. We made it to Cortez the first day and stayed the night at the Baymont Inn. They had a great indoor swimming pool and we went swimming that night and the next morning.

Lunch Break at Clines Corner

We bought Caden a life jacket and he swam all over the whole pool all by himself. We are so proud of him <3 Our cute Cierra-bear
Love this baby boy :)
Kenzie, the teenager. She is way too cool to go swimming with her family.

The next day we headed out around noon for the rest of our journey. We stopped at Wilson's Arch. The plan was for all of us to hike up to the arch, but Caden fell and got a skinned knee about half-way up, so only Erick and Ty made it to the top.

After that we stopped at Hole N' The Rock.
We toured the rock house and then wandered around the grounds. There are so many fun things there to look at.
Smile Kenz!

We also went to the petting zoo. We all had so much fun. Some of the animals were hilarious.
Kenzie feeding the camel, Kramer
We finished off our stop with some ice cream :)

Caden really, really disliked this little statue man for some reason, so I took a pic so that he could always remember him.
We finished our drive with a terrible rain storm coming into the valley. We finally made it to Sandy at about 8:30pm. It is good to be back with family and friends and the mountains :)

Love the statue. We call it Dave with a rootbeer.

We've driven past Hole in the Rock so many times and never stopped. You may have just convinced me stop there with our family next time we're passing through.

I (like Heather) have never stopped at Hole in the Rock. I didn't know there was so much to do!
