Caden's Big Day

We went to the ENT yesterday and after looking at
Caden's ears, they scheduled him for tubes this morning. We got to the hospital at 7:45am and Caden was in toy heaven. We played in the waiting room for a while and then went back to do the health exam. Caden was not happy about the hospital bracelet. They ended up having to put a sticker on his back with all of his info on it because he wouldn't calm down. After the health exam, we went to a second waiting room. The second waiting room had even better toys and less kids, so Caden had even more fun in there. Pretty soon it was time to go back to the OR. Caden cried and I almost did, too. About a half hour later, we got to go see our little guy. He looked so sad hooked up to all the different machines. He did really well and started drinking apple juice right away. We got to go home a little while after that. Since we've been home, he's been playing and eating and acting like himself. You would never know that he had surgery today. We go back to the ENT in about a month and they will retest his hearing. We're crossing our fingers that the tubes take care of the hearing loss.

Cute little guy. Hopefully this will all work out for him. Heard you might be going under the knife, too. Oops, am I not supposed to say anything? Oh, do they have a room full of toys for grown-ups when they have surgery?

It sounds like his tubes went great. Are you still going to do speech? The tubes might do the trick. Glad you're blogging!

Amy-we are still going to speech therapy because he is so far behind. He starts on March 5th. His teachers are Kimber and I can't remember the other one...lol

Michelle-it's not a secret at all. I'm hoping to get this wretched gallbladder taken out in the next couple of weeks. I sure hope they have a room full of toys for me!

Poor, but cute little guy. I was happy to see that he had his pacifer for the whole ordeal. I didn't know you need to get surgery. Good luck! We miss all our cousins and I'm glad we can see them on the blog.

I love getting on these blogs and finding out what is going on in everyone's life! I am glad Caden is doing well, it can be so hard to be a mother sometimes, ecspecially when they are scared or in pain.
